Make a solid start with literacy by using books, books, books! We will talk about commercially-made big books, the big books teachers and children make, small books and all books in between. With them you can generate multi-level reading activities that make each child successful. We will enhance what big books offer by doing whole-, small-, and independent-group exercises while integrating Early Reading First and/or Reading First guidelines and principles. We will use poems, stories, and songs to maximize children's interest in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
