Making word, sound, and number associations through movement and singing songs.
Wiggle, jiggle, spin, roll, fiddle, run, jump and twist! That describes young children. If we watch them in their natural settings we see their energy and activity levels. It is clear that their desire to move needs to be captured to teach and reinforce learning. Young children use movement to launch their bodies into their endeavors. Movement, motion, and music in your classroom allows you to harness some of that energy to teach things like; counting, grouping, patterning, letter recognition, oral language, listening, and other skills. It makes for active learning while having fun.
