Apple-lacing mat: Purchase a red-plastic place mat with a spongy reverse side. Cut it into the shape of an apple. Use a punch to make holes, about one inch apart, an inch from the edge of the placemat. Use a 72-inch, red shoelace for the children to lace around the apple shape.
