Apple sandwich: Use ½-cup cream cheese, ¾-cup chopped celery; ¾ cup chopped walnuts, 1 cup finely-chopped apples, and slices of bread. For a large class of children, double or triple this recipe. Have the children taste each ingredient so they will be familiar with the taste. Some of the children may not want to taste. That's fine. Mix the ingredients together. The children spread the mixture on the bread. Cut the sandwich in half; serve two children. Continue for the entire class.
