Eyedropper Art: Use large coffeepot filters made for large coffee makers), three small jars, newspaper, a tray, food coloring, and three eyedroppers (or pipettes). Put the newspaper under the tray at the activity workspace. Fill the jars half full with a food-coloring-and-water mixture (red, blue and yellow) and put them on the tray. Put an eyedropper in each jar. Put out the coffee filters. Have the children use the droppers to drop colored water to create designs on the filter. Put the filters aside to dry and then, hang them in a window for the light to shine through. For more on this activity, Squish, Sort, Paint, and Build, page 23.
