Food coloring on napkins: Use thick, paper dinner napkins, 3 small jars, newspaper, tray, food coloring, and 3 pipettes. Place a thick pad of newspaper on a tray under the activity. Place a food-coloring-and-water mixture (red, blue and yellow) in the three small jars. Fill them half full. Put a pipette in each jar. The children get a napkin, put it on the newspaper and use the pipette to make a design. Put it aside to dry. When the children unfold the dried napkin it is always a delight to see what color impression has been made.
